'Ember & Oak Pizzeria began with a simple dream: to deliver authentic Neapolitan pizza to London. Founded by the Smith family in 1985, our pizzeria started as a small, family-run spot with recipes passed down through generations.

Oliver Smith, our founder, learned the craft of pizza-making while traveling across Italy, apprenticing with master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. After returning to the UK, she aimed to recreate the magic of true Italian pizza using traditional methods and top-quality ingredients.

What began as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has grown into a cherished local landmark, yet our dedication to quality and authenticity has never faltered. We still use wood-fired oven techniques, prepare dough fresh daily, and source the finest ingredients available.

Today, 'Ember & Oak Pizzeria remains a family-owned business, now steered by the second generation of the Smith family. While we’ve embraced some modern improvements, the core of our mission stays the same: crafting delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
